Zukunft - Umwelt - Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH supports several federal ministries in achieving their funding policy objectives. Since we started our organisation in 2017, ZUG has been growing steadily and now employs more than 950 people in Berlin, Bonn and Cottbus.
 
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), the „PtX Lab Lausitz - Think-and-do tank for fuels and basic materials from green hydrogen“ is being set up and developed by ZUG. It is intended to support politics, business, society and science on the path to greenhouse gas neutrality by coupling the electricity sector with transport and industrial sectors (PtX). In doing so, the PtX Lab Lausitz acts as a knowledge platform, impulse generator and contact partner for industry, politics and science. The focus of the work is the market introduction of environmentally compatible generation and use of PtX products. Further information is available at https://ptxlablausitz.de/.
 
We are looking for experts in the defossilisation of maritime transport and shipping, with different areas of specialisation such as:  
  • Greenhouse gas emission reduction technologies in ships (engines, shipbuilding, hydrogen-based fuels)
  • Maritime infrastructure development (ports, transport and storage of fuels)
  • EU and IMO regulation 
  • Freight Transport Economics and Policy 
  • Cruise industry

What you will do?

  • Analysis of the current state of science, industry, and technology for the market introduction of hydrogen-based marine fuels
  • Advisory on the regulatory and political framework for the defossilisation of maritime transport
  • Building up and strengthening the PtX Lab’s network of relevant stakeholders from industry, science and politics at regional, national, European and international level.
  • Designing and implementing technical workshops, webinars, and others events 
  • Writing of articles, policy papers, and other publications for different target groups
  • Presenting key findings in industry, policy or at scientific conferences 
  • Support public relations with the provision of technical 
  • Advisory to the German Government

What we are looking for?

  • Completed university degree (Master's degree or university diploma)
  • Relevant professional experience and expertise in at least one of the above-mentioned areas of specialisation
  • A clearly pronounced interest in and understanding of technical, economic and political contexts
  • High interest in environmental and climate protection issues, especially in technical, economic and political implementation
  • Very good written and spoken English language skills (C1)
  • Basic German language skills (B2) with the willingness to improve them
  • Ability to occasionally go on national and international business trips
